Rhaetian Alps, ascent of the highest summit in the Trentino-South Tyrol.

Overnight stay at the Coston hut (also known as Hintergrath ütte) at an altitude of 2661 metres..

This is the best ascent route which follows the E.S.E. ridge; there are no relevant difficulties, but nonetheless it is recommended for mountaineers with good abilities. A section of the ridge offers moves of Grade II and II sup. The descent is tackled along the normal ascent route towards the Payer hut (situated on the Tabaretta ridge at an altitude of 3029 metres, between the Solda and Trafori valleys.) Good physical condition is required.
