Basic information about the activity
The Vajo dell’Orsa canyon is located in Brentino Belluno, on the east side of the Monte Baldo, not far from Lake Garda.
This is the longest canyon tour we offer: a true adventure only for people who have previous experience at least in shorter canyons. We will start with a one and a half hour walking without a shuttle; in fact we can’t be scared of an uphill path if we want to face such a canyon and everyone knows great adventures always start on foot.
The meeting point is at the church in Brentino; there we will prepare our backpacks with the equipment, food, water and emergency equipment. We will follow the path that leads to the Madonna della Corona sanctuary, first uphill and then on a flat terrain, along the gorge that forms the canyon until we arrive at the starting point of the torrent.
During our descent we will face about 30 abseils, some of them are dry and other in water, the highest abseils are 27 metres high.
The fist part of the canyon is characterised by a gorge not so deep and it alternates between easy abseils, walking in the torrent, crystal-clear water pools and some small jumps.
The midpart is the most spectacular and interesting part of the canyon: 200 metres of rock wall that form a long gorge with many abseils and slides on smooth rocks and clear pools. The canyon becomes deeper, drier and wider. Before the last part we will find a nice place to rest, eat and restore our energy. We will then continue our adventure with more abseils and rock walls until we will finish our unforgettable adventure reaching our starting point.
Technical information:
- Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure.
- The route is circular
- Dressing and undressing take place on a lawn with a towel around, like on the beach
- It’s better to arrive at the appointment wearing your costume
- Your guide will be a UIAGM certified Alpine Guide.

Technical equipment provided:
- Neoprene socks (your socks for the occasion)
- 5.5mm neoprene wetsuit
- Helmet
- Harness with cords and carabiners
- If necessary, upon your request after the briefing, life jacket
- The materials supplied are always disinfected, washed and checked
What you have to bring:
- A pair of canyon shoes (gymnastics or similar)
- A bathing suit
- Another pair of shoes for the way back home (the ones used in the canyon will be wet)
- Nylon bags for wet things
- A towel
- A synthetic or cotton T-shirt to wear under the wetsuit (preferably a synthetic thermal model)

Once you have met, there will be a briefing where the guide will explain very well the activity that your family will experience, what you can and must absolutely not do during the entire circular tour, as well as the behavior to adopt, to reduce the risks present in the outdoor canyoning activity to an acceptable level.
