The Rio Sallagoni via Ferrata is located near Arco and runs along the canyon that bounds the Drena castle fortress. This route is easy, suitable for beginners and not too long, but so fascinating that you will enjoy it even if you already have some via ferrata experience.
Inside this picturesque gorge, surrounded by ferns and a few small waterfalls, two Tibetan bridges, suspended cables and walkways inside the stream bed await us. The trail is almost always shaded and perfect in summer during the hottest days.
This via ferrata is also suitable for children and families, but given the distance between the hand and foot metal cable, it is not recommended for children under 12 years of age with a height of less than 1.40 meters.
What you need to take with you:
- Shoes suitable for the type of route
- Seasonally appropriate clothing
- Bicycle gloves (recommended)
- Backpack with water and energy bars
Requirements:
- Being in good physical shape
- Do not suffer from vertigo
Equipment provided:
- Helmet
- Harness
- Dissipated lanyards for via ferrata progression
- Positioning for relaxing the arms
The equipment provided (helmets) is duly washed and disinfected after every use.
Meeting point:
The meeting point is on the road to Drena Castle, at the parking lot immediately upstream from the tambourine field.
Advice from your Mountain Guide:
During the briefing, your guide will explain to you the importance of technical equipment, and you will also be exposed to the major risks and dangers inherent in outdoor activities of this kind. With the appropriate equipment and the accompaniment of your UIAGM Mountain Guide, risks and dangers will be brought down to an “acceptable” level, but remember that in any outdoor activity the so-called zero risk does not exist.
