Basic information about the activity
Iceland is an unforgettable destination for ski mountaineering with wild environments and mountains that offer wonderful views of the sea; if you are a nature lover Iceland is an island to visit at least once in your life.
Once we land in Reykjavík we will set off towards Dalvik, a small fishing village with about 1900 inhabitants, located on the Eyjafjörður fjord, near the town of Akureyri. The Eyjafjörður fjord is about 80 kilometers long and there we will find our ideal terrain for ski mountaineering trips, with a development of about 1200 meters of altitude difference, from the sea directly to the summit.
We will take on ski mountaineering trips that we will choose day by day, based on the weather and snow cover. We will sleep and cook all together in a cozy house, equipped with all comforts.

At the end of our holiday, we will have the opportunity to visit Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall which are part of the famous Golden Circle. On the rest day, we will visit Dettifoss waterfall in Vatnajökull National Park, known as the second largest waterfall in Europe.
Furthermore, volcanoes, small thermal pools where we will bathe, geysers and kilometers of road in the middle of the wildest nature await us, where lunar landscapes alternate with immense pastures.
Among the trips I organize, the ski mountaineering trip in Iceland is certainly the most unique and appreciated by those who want to combine a sports holiday with nature tours in one of the most uncontaminated lands in Europe. I am sure we will have fun!
